Starting its operations since 1993, Chitra was initially part of the tire business unit under the name of PT Trakindo Utama. In 1996, Chitra was appointed as the sole agent of Michelin earthmover tires in Indonesia, and became an independent company since February 18, 2000.

As a leading tire solution company in Indonesia, Chitra seeks to bring its products and services closer to its large client base.  Currently, Chitra is focused in the mining markets. With its investments in infrastructure and system developments, Chitra is set to further expand and become a fully integrated tire solution provider for other market segments, including non-mining markets.

Chitra's operational areas spread to almost all corners of Indonesia. Starting from Meulaboh, Pekanbaru, Palembang, to several areas in East Kalimantan, South Kalimantan and also in Eastern Indonesia such as Sorowako, Batu Hijau and Timika. In addition, to further complement the business, Chitra also has a branch in Singapore.
